72 criminals, 32 with Red Notices, extradited to Turkey

The Ministry of Interior announced that 32 criminals sought with Red Notices and 40 sought at the national level have been brought back to Turkey.

72 criminals, 32 with Red Notices, extradited to Turkey

The Ministry of Interior has issued a written statement regarding the return of criminals sought with Red Notices and at the national level to Turkey.

Providing information on joint efforts conducted with law enforcement units of many countries, the statement included the following: "Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Interpol-Europol Department, officials from the Ministry of Justice, and the Departments of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), Intelligence, Anti-Narcotics, Cybercrime, Public Order, and Counter-Terrorism; as a result of joint efforts with the law enforcement units of the relevant countries, 72 individuals who had fled abroad and had active search warrants were apprehended and brought to our country. A total of 54 individuals were apprehended from Georgia, including 17 sought internationally with Red Notices and 37 sought at the national level; 9 were apprehended from Germany sought internationally with Red Notices; 2 from Montenegro sought internationally with Red Notices; 1 each from Argentina, Colombia, and Russia sought internationally with Red Notices; and 1 each from Bulgaria, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Iraq, and Sweden sought at the national level."

The statement included the following remarks:

"The following individuals sought internationally with Red Notices were apprehended: H.A., E.U., M.Y., B.A., S.D., E.Ö., B.E., M.Ö., M.K., İ.Ç., O.G., E.Y., Z.İ., M.Y., Ö.Y., İ.K., K.Ç., A.Y., R.Ş., F.M., M.A., Y.Ç., H.İ., S.B., İ.K., A.U., M.Ö., Ş.S.A., R.G., S.E., R.C., and S.A. The following individuals sought at the national level were apprehended: A.G., İ.C., F.D., F.Ş., S.C.T., M.T., H.D., R.D., E.T., E.Ö., U.T., S.E., M.Ö., E.U., H.A., B.B., Ş.B., M.Y., E.K., Y.İ., H.B.Y., İ.A., N.Y., Y.K., S.D., F.A., M.K., M.D., D.B., Z.Y., N.D., U.Ö., T.K., E.C.Ö., E.G., E.Y., C.K., C.T., R.S., and U.Ö. It was determined that the apprehended individuals were wanted for crimes including sexual assault by molestation, fraud using information systems, fraud by impersonating a public official/bank employee, theft, drug trafficking, intentional killing, intentional injury, escape of a convict or detainee, violence against women, threats, breach of trust, unauthorized excavation, opposition to the Tax Procedure Law, bounced checks, armed threats, terrorist organization propaganda, membership in an armed terrorist organization, possession of unlicensed weapons, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, robbery in a residence, deprivation of liberty, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, counterfeiting currency, forgery of official documents, illegal betting, and mediating prostitution. We congratulate our Departments and our heroic police officers, and we thank the officials of the Ministry of Justice."
