Two more bodies have been found washed ashore 500 meters apart in the Serik district of Antalya. This brings the total number of bodies washed up on Antalya's coast in 6 days to 8.
Antalya's Serik district, in the Kadriye Neighborhood, hotel staff reported finding two skeletal bodies washed ashore 500 meters apart, leading to an investigation.
The gender and identities of the bodies are currently unknown. Following the incident, the bodies were sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsies and identification.
This incident follows the discovery of 8 bodies that have washed up on the Antalya coast over the last 6 days. A body was also found washed ashore in the Aksu district the previous day.
In a statement made by the Antalya Governor's Office, it was noted that one of the bodies washed ashore belonged to M.Ş.E. It was determined that this individual had gone missing some time ago, while the possibility that the other bodies were of Syrian origin and may have come from a boat that went missing on December 11, 2023, was being investigated.
