8 Israeli soldiers killed in southern Gaza

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that there were deaths and injuries among Israeli soldiers in a "complex ambush" set up in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, following which the Israeli army issued a written statement.

The statement indicated that 8 soldiers were killed in clashes in southern Gaza, including a deputy company commander from the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion.

The army's statement did not provide detailed information regarding the location in southern Gaza where the soldiers were killed.

On the other hand, a report by the Yedioth Ahronot newspaper stated that the soldiers were killed when an explosive device planted on the road detonated while they were advancing in an armored vehicle near the Tel al-Sultan Refugee Camp in Rafah.

With this, the number of Israeli soldiers killed since the start of the attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7 has risen to 658, with 306 of them killed during the ground invasion process.

Additionally, 3,835 Israeli soldiers have been wounded in the attacks, 1,936 of them during the ground invasion process.

In a written statement issued by the Qassam Brigades today, it was stated that a complex ambush was set for an Israeli military vehicle entering the As-Saudi area in Tel al-Sultan, located in the west of Rafah city, and that it was targeted with "Yasin 105" rockets, resulting in the death and injury of the soldiers inside.
