8 lawyers detained ahead of NATO summit: ASI and CHD targeted

Ahead of the NATO Summit to be held on July 7-8, 8 lawyers, including 6 members of the Lawyers' Voice Initiative (ASİ) and 2 members of the Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD), have been detained. 

This morning, Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD) Istanbul Branch President Lawyer Ezgi Önalan was detained, along with ÇHD member Lawyer Yunus Emre Işık and 6 lawyers who are members of ASİ. 

The list of lawyers detained ahead of the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara on July 7-8 is as follows:

Lawyer Pınar Akbina (ASİ)

Lawyer Doğan Zafer Çıngı (ASİ)

Lawyer Ayhan Erkan (ASİ)

Lawyer Tacettin Çolak (ASİ) 

Lawyer Sait Kıran (ASİ) 

Lawyer Kıvılcım Çolak (ASİ) 

Lawyer Ezgi Önalan (ÇHD) 

Lawyer Yunus Emre Işık (ÇHD) 

In a post on its official X account, ASİ stated, "We do not accept these unlawful detentions. We are following the process. Release our colleagues immediately!"
