810 million scam via fake vehicle inspection site! 25 people arrested

In the "Last Station" operation conducted across 14 provinces centered in Diyarbakır, 25 out of 26 suspects identified for defrauding citizens through fake websites set up under the guise of vehicle inspection appointments were arrested. The network's transaction volume was determined to have reached 810 million liras.

Teams from the Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department carried out a large-scale operation against a fraud network targeting citizens under the guise of vehicle inspection appointments. Within the scope of the operation dubbed "Last Station," simultaneous raids were conducted in 14 provinces centered in Diyarbakır.

It was determined that the organization, which set up fake websites by imitating TÜVTÜRK's vehicle inspection services, reached victims via landline phone numbers. It was discovered that the suspects directed citizens to transfer money under the pretext of "debt payment."

Technical and financial investigations conducted by the Public Security Branch revealed that the organization was involved in 23 separate fraud incidents. It was noted that the suspicious transaction volume reached 810 million liras, while the concretely determined financial loss amounted to 1 million 145 thousand 159 liras.

The operations were carried out simultaneously in Diyarbakır, as well as in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Van, Izmir, Antalya, Ordu, Konya, Sakarya, Yalova, Erzurum, Hatay, Ankara, and Adana. A total of 26 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.

In accordance with the decision of the judicial authorities, 2 properties and 3 vehicles belonging to the suspects, as well as assets worth 8 million 430 thousand liras in bank accounts, were seized. Of the suspects referred to the court following their procedures at the police station, 1 was released under judicial control, while 25 people were arrested and sent to prison.
