879 vehicles from the AKP era at IMM were allocated to various institutions

In 2018, while under AKP administration, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality rented luxury vehicles such as Audi, Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb, and Opel Insignia from Platform Turizm for a total value of 138 million 757 thousand 501 TL.

According to reports by Sözcü, instead of being used for the municipality's own services, these vehicles were allocated to various organizations such as the Presidency, the July 15 Association, the AKP Headquarters, the Archers Foundation (Okçular Vakfı), and TÜGVA.

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu requested that the institutions using these vehicles compensate for the resulting loss, but these requests remained unanswered. It was determined that the public loss caused by the vehicle rentals amounted to 711 thousand dollars.

INVESTIGATION AND DISCIPLINARY PENALTIES

Examinations revealed that a total of 879 vehicles were used by different institutions. These vehicles were reclaimed, and an investigation was launched into the matter. Disciplinary penalties were imposed on the Deputy Secretary General of the period and some other administrators. These developments have brought the financial practices of the IMM's past administrations back to the agenda.

- 54 to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM),

- and 5 vehicles were allocated to the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA).
