9 contract privates had been detained: Decision in the drug investigation at the National Defense University!

Following a report by the National Defense University Air Force Academy Command regarding the alleged drug use of personnel, 9 individuals serving as contract privates were detained by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Of the suspects referred to the courthouse, 3 were arrested by the on-duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace, while 6 were released under judicial control conditions, including a travel ban.

An investigation was launched by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following a report from the National Defense University (MSÜ) Air Force Academy Command regarding certain personnel serving as contract privates. The report filed by the Air Force Academy stated that the privates had committed the crime of 'purchasing, accepting, or possessing drugs or stimulants for personal use, or using drugs or stimulants.'

Acting upon the report, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued instructions to the Istanbul Police Department, leading to the detention of 9 suspects. Following their statements, the suspects were referred to the Council of Forensic Medicine, where blood, hair, and urine samples were collected.

It was also learned that an investigation was initiated in the case regarding the crimes of 'supplying drugs' and 'facilitating drug use,' and that the detention periods for the suspects were extended within this scope.

After the procedures at the gendarmerie, the suspects were referred to the courthouse. Three of the suspects, identified as M.Ö., E.D.A., and H.Y., were arrested by the on-duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace, while 6 suspects identified as H.U., M.A.D., A.Y.I., M.Ş., A.K., and M.A.C. were released under judicial control conditions, including a travel ban.
