A happy day for Özgür Özel

Bahçeşehir University’s (BAU) 2023-2024 academic year graduation ceremony was held this year at the Ülker Sports Arena. Celebrating its 24th graduating class, 6 thousand students from nine faculties, two vocational schools, one institute, and the conservatory department at Bahçeşehir University experienced the pride of throwing their caps. The ceremony, which began with the singing of the National Anthem, was attended by Bahçeşehir University Board of Trustees Chairman Enver Yücel, members of the Board of Trustees, Bahçeşehir University Rector Prof. Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu, senate members, faculty members, academics, and the students' families.

ATTENDED HIS DAUGHTER'S GRADUATION

While the families attending the program were seen to be very excited, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was among those experiencing the pride of their children's graduation. Özgür Özel, who came to the hall for the ceremony of his daughter İpek Özel, who graduated from the BAU Faculty of Law, was accompanied by some of his staff. At the exit of the hall, the CHP Chairman presented flowers to his daughter İpek Özel and took a commemorative photo with their family members. Bahçeşehir University (BAU) Board of Trustees Chairman Enver Yücel, who began his speech by saying "Welcome" to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, congratulated the new graduates and emphasized the importance of being a global citizen, stating the following:

“The importance we place on education also contributes to the development of our country. The 6 thousand students we are sending off to the future here today have not only received the theoretical and practical training of their respective departments, but have also been equipped with the knowledge and vision that will enable them to be global citizens.”

"THE ONLY PATH IS THE PATH OF CONTEMPORARY CIVILIZATION"

Giving advice to the students, Yücel said, “Some of you will enter the business world, some of you will work with your families, and some of you will enter the bureaucracy. Wherever you go, whatever sector you work in, you will have difficulties. You will have problems. There will be moments when you fall. Never be afraid of falling. Be afraid of not getting back up. A person may fail, a person succeeds. Your successes will also transform you. But do not be arrogant, do not look down on anyone. When you are in trouble, do not give a chance to those who try to show you paths. Know that there is only one path that you know and that we know. That path is the path of contemporary civilization shown by the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.”

"DO NOT COMPROMISE ON FREEDOM"

Stating that students should attach importance to artificial intelligence, Yücel emphasized the importance of freedom and justice, saying, “Never stray from justice. Do not stand by power, but by right and justice. Never compromise on your freedom, not even by a millimeter. If we are not free, you cannot produce. You cannot produce in a society that is not free. Therefore, as an individual, your freedom is our greatest wealth.”

"SHE MADE US PROUD"

In his message sharing images from his daughter's graduation ceremony, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel used the words, "My only daughter, İpek, has made us proud once again by graduating from Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law today. I wish İpek, all her friends, and all our youth a healthy and happy future."
