A major danger at Turkey's doorstep: Smuggling advertisements on the Iranian border!

Footage of human smuggling across the Turkish border filmed in Iran has quickly become a major topic of discussion.

The footage was shared by Independent Türkçe Editor-in-Chief Nevzat Çiçek. Çiçek stated that the video in question was published on the Instagram account of an Iranian human smuggler.

“PROVIDING SAFE PASSAGE IS OUR BUSINESS”

In the shared video, it was seen that Iranian smugglers claimed to facilitate crossings across the Iran-Turkey border in snowy weather conditions. It was noted that the caption “Providing safe passage across the Iran-Turkey border in snowy weather is our business” was added to the footage. The video revealed how physical barriers at the border are being bypassed.

It was noted that following US President Donald Trump’s announcement that “a large fleet is heading to Iran,” internal developments in Iran are being closely monitored, and a potential migration movement has come to the agenda. It was pointed out that human smugglers have increased their activities on social media during this process.

In his post, Nevzat Çiçek stated that while the possibility of a potential attack on Iran is being discussed, human smugglers have already begun advertising. Çiçek reported that the video belongs to an Iranian smuggler’s advertising account and is addressed directly to Iranians.

It had been previously announced that Turkey has taken technological and physical measures to increase security along its approximately 560-kilometer border line with Iran. In this context, it was reported that there are 203 electro-optical towers, 43 elevator towers, 380 kilometers of modular concrete walls, and 553 kilometers of defensive trenches.
