A new wave of heavy rainfall and cool weather awaits the country

The weather across Turkey will be partly to very cloudy today. Intermittent and locally severe rainfall is expected, particularly in the southern and western parts of Marmara, the inner parts and northern coasts of the Aegean Region, and the inner regions of the Mediterranean.

Air temperatures are expected to remain near seasonal norms along the western coastline of the country, while they are forecast to be 2 to 4 degrees below normal in other regions. Winds will blow mainly from the north in the west and north, and from the south in other regions, at light to occasionally moderate speeds.

Citizens have been urged to be cautious against potential negative consequences such as flash floods, inundation, lightning strikes, and disruptions to transportation in regions where heavy rainfall is expected.

The highest temperature values by region are as follows:

In Marmara; temperatures will be measured at 21 degrees in Istanbul, 23 in Kırklareli, and 25 in Sakarya. Intermittent showers are widespread in the region throughout the day, with rainfall expected to intensify in the southern and western districts, especially in the afternoon.

In the Aegean Region, temperatures are forecast to be around 27 degrees in Izmir, 18 in Afyonkarahisar, 24 in Denizli, and 23 in Muğla. The inner Aegean and northern coasts will receive their share of the rainfall.

In the Mediterranean Region, temperatures will be around 24 degrees in Antalya and Adana, while dropping to 20 degrees in Burdur. Thunderstorms may be heavy, especially in the inner parts of the region.

In Central Anatolia, the capital Ankara will have a cool day at 21 degrees, Eskişehir at 23, Konya at 22, and Nevşehir at 19 degrees. Showers will increase in intensity again in the region starting from the evening hours.

In the Black Sea region, Bolu will follow a cool course at 21 degrees, Düzce at 22, Kastamonu at 21, and Zonguldak at 20 degrees. Frequent rainfall transitions stand out across the region. In the Central and Eastern Black Sea cities of Amasya, Artvin, Samsun, and Trabzon, temperatures will be in the 19-23 degree band, and showers are expected along with a partly cloudy sky.

In the Eastern Anatolia Region, temperatures will be measured around 13 degrees in Erzurum, 14 in Kars, 21 in Malatya, and 16 in Van. Thunderstorms will continue intermittently throughout the day in all provinces in the region.

In Southeastern Anatolia, Diyarbakır will end the day at 23 degrees, Mardin at 20, Siirt at 23, and Şanlıurfa at 25 degrees. Showers will also be effective in these regions in the afternoon.
