A rector like no other... He dwarfs Erdoğan's monthly earnings: Even his villa rent is paid by the university

The dismissal of Çankırı Karatekin University Rector Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi, following the revelation that he received a 1.2 million TL salary from the revolving fund, had caused a widespread public outcry. However, a similar situation is unfolding at Karabük University.

According to a report by the local news website Nethaber in Karabük, the income of Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık is also staggering. It is stated that Kırışık, who has multiplied his salary with numerous additional allowances since taking office, has reached a total monthly income of 1 million 200 thousand TL.

INCOME SOURCES LISTED ONE BY ONE

The additional income sources of Rector Kırışık, whose official salary is approximately 150 thousand TL, are listed as follows:

200 thousand TL per month from the revolving fund of the Karabük Training and Research Hospital,

200 thousand TL from the university's technopark management,

200 thousand TL from foreign students and other revolving fund sources of the university,

150 thousand TL from the Iron and Steel Institute,

50 thousand TL from exam and distance education institutions such as ÖSYM and AÖF.

While the total of these items exceeds 1 million TL, domestic and international travel allowances are also added to this amount.

ADDITIONAL INCOME FROM DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL TRIPS

Rector Kırışık's trips representing the university have also become a source of income. It is reported that he receives a daily allowance of 1,250 TL for domestic official trips and 250 Euros per day for international trips. Furthermore, it is noted that these trips are taken quite frequently.

60 THOUSAND TL VILLA RENT FROM THE UNIVERSITY COFFERS

One of the most striking allegations concerns the luxury villa where Rector Kırışık resides. It is claimed that the monthly rent of 60 thousand TL for the high-priced villa in Safranbolu is paid from the university budget.

Rector Kırışık, who purchased two brand-new Toyota official vehicles after taking office, had also previously announced to the public that he had bought a house in Ankara. The discussions regarding his luxurious lifestyle and the use of public resources have caused discomfort in the public eye, beyond the university community.

RECTOR'S INCOME SURPASSES THE PRESIDENT'S

It is evident that Rector Kırışık's total monthly income dwarfs the 238 thousand TL salary of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the 190 thousand TL salaries of members of parliament.
