A sad day for Volkan Demirel

Ali Hacı Demirel, the father of former national football player and coach Volkan Demirel, who was in the Akyarlar neighborhood of Bodrum, Muğla, suddenly fell ill this afternoon.

After an emergency call, Demirel was taken by ambulance to the Acıbadem Bodrum Hospital.

Despite all interventions at the hospital, Ali Hacı Demirel could not be saved.

Volkan Demirel, who was closely following his father's condition at the hospital, was deeply saddened upon receiving the news of his passing.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGES FROM THE TURKISH FOOTBALL FEDERATION (TFF) AND FENERBAHÇE

In a message shared by the TFF, it was stated: "We have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Ali Naci Demirel, the father of our former A National Team goalkeeper, our 2032 European Football Championship football ambassador, and coach Volkan Demirel. We wish God's mercy upon the late Ali Naci Demirel and extend our condolences to his grieving family and loved ones."

Fenerbahçe Club also shared a message for Volkan Demirel's father, stating: "We have learned with great sadness the news of the passing of Ali Naci Demirel, the dear father of Volkan Demirel, one of our legendary captains who successfully guarded our Fenerbahçe goal for many years and our former assistant coach. We wish God's mercy upon the late Ali Naci Demirel and extend our condolences to the Demirel family, especially Volkan Demirel, as well as his relatives and loved ones."
