A wallet-draining development in US visas: The price of a fast-track appointment revealed

It has been claimed that the US Department of State is preparing a paid expedited appointment system for business and tourist visa applications at certain embassies and consulates.

According to a report by the Associated Press (AP), based on documents obtained and statements from a State Department official, a new pilot program for visa applications is being developed.

FAST-TRACK APPOINTMENTS FOR THOSE WHO PAY AN EXTRA FEE

According to the allegations, under the program, individuals applying for visas for business or tourism purposes will be able to benefit from an expedited appointment service if they pay 750 dollars in addition to the current application fee.

It is claimed that with this new practice, it is planned to provide applicants with an appointment within 10 days.

MAY START IN JULY

It is alleged that the pilot program is expected to be announced this week, and the practice will be implemented at specific embassies and consulates between July 1 and December 31.

WILL NOT GUARANTEE A VISA

The report noted that the 750-dollar additional payment will be an optional service. It was stated that the visa applications of those who pay this fee will only be processed faster, but this will not mean visa approval.
