Abdulkadir Selvi's response to Bahçeli on 'Kavala': 'I am a lover of Turkey'

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party's group meeting yesterday.

In his speech, Bahçeli drew attention to an article by Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, stating, "To say 'the crime is old, it is invalid in the new system' is the work of hitmen and those without identity who do not know the state and the nation, or who sweep things under the rug even if they do know."

"NOT A KAVALA LOVER"

Selvi responded to the criticisms directed at him in Bahçeli's group speech in his column today:

“MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli quoted from my article without naming me. He made his criticisms in a respectful tone. As long as there is no insult, I benefit from criticisms. I think differently, and Bahçeli thinks differently. What is important is that we can talk despite our differences. Ultimately, we are all children of this country.

I am not a lover of Kavala, I am a lover of Turkey. I see the interests of my country in freedoms and reforms. I believe it is necessary to build a new politics in the new era. Those who think differently may find this dangerous. As long as there is no insult or threat, we can discuss these.”
