Acting Agriculture Director murdered in his office! Murder suspect has surrendered

In the Marmara district of Balıkesir, police teams were dispatched to the scene yesterday around 15:00 following a report of 5 gunshots heard from the District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate building.

The teams found 37-year-old Acting District Agriculture and Forestry Director Murat Yakupoğlu motionless and covered in blood in his office. It was determined that Murat Yakupoğlu had lost his life. Murat Yakupoğlu's body was taken to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute.

SURRENDERED

S.A., a father of 2 who was being sought as the murder suspect in the death of Murat Yakupoğlu, saw gendarmerie teams while walking on the street in the Çınarlı neighborhood where search efforts were ongoing, went to a cafe operated by his family, and called the gendarmerie by phone.

BODY RELEASED TO RELATIVES

Murat Yakupoğlu's body was released to his relatives following autopsy procedures.

It was learned that the funeral will be held tomorrow at noon after the prayer at the Örnekköy Dizdar Mosque in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir, and he will be laid to rest at the Cennet Bahçesi Cemetery in the Kemalpaşa district.
