Acting mayor determined at Kuşadası Municipality
Following the arrest of Mayor Ömer Günel in Kuşadası, CHP lawyer Tahsin Demirtaş was elected as acting mayor with 23 votes in the municipal council ballot.
A change in administration has taken place at Kuşadası Municipality. Municipal council members went to the polls to fill the position left vacant after Mayor Ömer Günel was arrested as part of an Istanbul-based investigation.
In the vote held, CHP Council Member and lawyer Tahsin Demirtaş, who received 23 votes, was appointed as acting mayor. It was stated that Demirtaş will continue in this role until the ongoing investigation is concluded.
