Acting mayor determined at Uşak Municipality!
Attorney Hatice Terekeci Özkan, the candidate of the CHP group, has been elected to the vacant position of acting mayor at the Uşak Municipality.
Following the arrest of Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, members of the municipal council determined the new acting mayor through a secret ballot vote.
Hatice Terekeci Özkan from the CHP and Şemsettin Karabulut from the AKP were candidates at the meeting. A total of 29 council members went to the polls. After the first round, the results were as follows: Hatice Terekeci Özkan received 18 votes, while Şemsettin Karabulut remained at 9 votes, and 2 votes were blank.
The situation did not change in the second round that followed. The council proceeded to the third round for a simple majority vote, and Attorney Hatice Terekeci Özkan, who again received 18 votes, was appointed as the Acting Mayor of Uşak. Following the election, the new acting mayor, Özkan, has officially begun her duties.
