AFAD: Turkey Disaster Response Plan has been activated
In a statement made by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), it was stated, "Immediately following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Silivri, Istanbul, the Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP) was activated as of 13:15."
In a post shared on AFAD's social media account, it was stated, "Immediately following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred today at 12:49 in the Sea of Marmara, off the coast of Silivri, Istanbul, the Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP) was activated as of 13:15.
Representatives of all disaster response groups, chaired by Deputy Minister of Interior Münir Karaloğlu, have gathered at the AFAD Headquarters Disaster and Emergency Center. Developments are being monitored in real-time," the statement read.
