Heidi Lushtaku, the wife of Turkish national team player Merih Demiral—who has been at the center of controversy following his 'wolf' gesture after scoring against Austria and subsequently received a two-match ban—spoke to a German newspaper.
Following the two-match suspension handed to Demiral by UEFA, his wife Heidi Lushtaku gave an interview to the German newspaper Bild.
Regarding her husband Demiral, Lushtaku said, "My husband is not a racist. He is a kind, open-minded, and tolerant person."

In the UEFA EURO 2024 quarter-final match, our National Football Team faced Austria.
The crescent-star team secured a 2-1 victory in the match thanks to goals from Merih Demiral. Merih Demiral, who scored the goals that brought victory to Turkey, celebrated by making the 'wolf' gesture.
While UEFA launched an investigation into Demiral's celebration, the German newspaper Bild announced last night that Demiral would be given a two-match suspension.
The TFF, however, denied Bild's report.
