Ahmet Davutoğlu calls for 2 officials to resign: 'Someone must be held accountable!'
Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu made a statement regarding the hotel tragedy in Bolu. Stating that "someone must be held accountable," Davutoğlu called for 2 officials to resign.
76 people lost their lives in the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center. While the investigation into the incident continues, reactions are growing in the face of the chain of negligence that has emerged.
Another reaction came from Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu. Stating "someone must be held accountable," Davutoğlu called for 2 officials to resign.
Making statements via his social media account, the Future Party leader used the following expressions:
"Someone must be held accountable! Our nation's heart is burning; the Mayor of Bolu and the Minister of Culture and Tourism are blaming each other. If the Mayor of Bolu had focused on the intervention capacity of the fire department in a forested region like Bolu instead of cutting off the water of oppressed refugees; and if the Minister of Culture and Tourism had devoted the time he spends on rent-seeking areas on the Aegean coast—which also concerns his own company—to the rehabilitation of tourism infrastructure, these pains might not have been experienced! If they have any self-respect, both of them must resign immediately!"
