Ahmet Hakan's commentary on Akşener: 'Accompanied by slogans...'
In his column today, Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan commented on Meral Akşener, who did not run as a candidate in the IYI Party's 5th Extraordinary Congress, suggesting she might return to the party after some time.
Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, regarding Meral Akşener, who stepped down as IYI Party Chair, stated, "I wouldn't be surprised at all if she returns after a while, accompanied by chants of 'Save us, sister'."
Hakan added, "We will realize this soon: There is no longer a 'sister' in Turkish politics. So, has she left completely? For some reason, I cannot be entirely sure. She rose the moment she went head-on against the government. She fell the moment she went head-on against the opposition. There are many lessons for her in this part of the matter," he expressed.
