Ahmet Hakan's 'austerity' call to Erbaş: 'Let everyone envy you...'
Hürriyet newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan addressed Diyanet Affairs President Ali Erbaş, who has been frequently in the news over his dining menus and luxury official vehicles. Hakan stated, "The duty to reflect the spirit of austerity in the best way falls primarily to you."
Hürriyet newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, in an article he penned titled 'A short motivational letter to Ali Erbaş', wrote: "You are in a position that represents a faith that strictly forbids waste. The duty to reflect the spirit of austerity in the best way falls primarily to you.".
"LET EVERYONE SAY 'WELL DONE'"
Noting that the return of the Audi A8 brand vehicle was a 'beneficial' step, albeit late, Hakan wrote: "From now on, we expect a performance from you regarding the 'use of state property' that will deeply impress everyone, whether they are believers or not. Appear before society in such a way that... Everyone, but everyone, says 'Well done to the Diyanet Affairs President.' Let everyone envy you.".
