Air traffic resumes in Damascus: Syria opens airspace to civilian flights

Flights, which were temporarily suspended at Damascus International Airport due to escalating regional tensions and mutual missile fire between Iran and Israel, have resumed. The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority announced that the airspace, which had been closed for security reasons, has been fully opened to civilian flights and that operations are gradually returning to normal.

Syrian Airlines announced that with the lifting of the suspension, flight scheduling would gradually resume with destinations including Kuwait, Doha, and Sharjah.

Syrian civil aviation authorities emphasized that despite the opening of the airspace, military activity in the region is being closely monitored. In a joint statement from airline companies, the warning was issued: "The continuation of flights is entirely dependent on the immediate security situation. In the event of new tension or escalation in the region, flight schedules may be canceled or changed at any time for the sake of passenger safety."

It was stated that in order to prevent inconvenience caused by the cancellations since last night, the flight times for ticketed passengers will be rescheduled and announced as soon as possible.
