Akın Gürlek responds to question on absolute nullity

Akın Gürlek responds to question on absolute nullity

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek answered questions from members of the press before the AKP Group Meeting. Evaluating the topics on the agenda, Gürlek provided information regarding ongoing investigations and cases.

GÜLİSTAN DOKU INVESTIGATION

Regarding the Gülistan Doku file, which has been on the public agenda for a long time, Gürlek said, "We have issued a red notice regarding the extradition of Umut Altaş from the USA. Hopefully, we are awaiting his extradition. I think Umut Altaş is the person who will solve it."

CHP CONGRESS CASE

Responding to a question regarding the case filed against the CHP congress, Gürlek emphasized that the process is at the judicial stage and stated, "The regional court of justice is examining whether a decision will be rendered in the CHP's absolute nullity case. We have no information. It cannot be our discretion either."

NEW EXAMINATION IN THE ROJİN KABAİŞ FILE

Minister Gürlek also spoke about the file of university student Rojin Kabaiş, whose lifeless body was found after she went missing in Van in 2024. Stating that a new step has been taken within the scope of the investigation, Gürlek said, "There may be a positive development in the file." He also stated that a special team has been established to examine Kabaiş's phone.
