AKOM issues warning: Temperatures in Istanbul to drop sharply

The mild weather affecting Istanbul in the morning hours will reach levels of 13°C by midday. According to data from AKOM, a cold air wave is expected to enter the city, particularly starting from the evening. As the night progresses, temperatures are forecast to drop below 5°C and rapidly return to typical winter values.

In addition to the sudden temperature drops, intermittent and occasionally heavy downpours are also among the expected developments in Istanbul. Meteorological experts advise citizens, especially those in traffic or in open areas, to take precautions.

By the middle of the week, rapid changes in the weather will be noticeable. On Wednesday, February 25, morning rain is expected under a cloudy sky, with temperatures hovering between 5-8°C.

Thursday, February 26, stands out as one of the most difficult days of the week. Dense clouds and intermittent rain showers throughout the day will cause temperatures to reach a high of 5°C and a low of 2°C.

Friday, February 27, will also be overcast with light rain. Temperatures will remain between 2 and 5°C.

Although the rain is expected to ease over the weekend, temperatures are not expected to rise to high levels. On Saturday and Sunday, the maximum temperature will be around 6-7°C, though occasional light rain may still occur.
