AKP and DEM clash: 'People devoid of honor'
Following the demolition of illegal bungalows in Batman, Trustee Governor Canalp's remarks about "people devoid of honor" have stirred up politics. AKP's Murat Çiçek retracted his harsh reaction, while DEM's Zeynep Oduncu blamed the administration.
The debate that began with the demolition of illegal bungalow houses in Batman has escalated with the harsh statements of Trustee Governor Ekrem Canalp and the reactions from AKP's Murat Çiçek and DEM's Zeynep Oduncu. In his statement regarding the demolished illegal structures, Canalp criticized the contractors in harsh terms, calling them "people devoid of honor."
Following Governor Canalp's remarks, AKP MKYK member Murat Çiçek reacted by saying, "Even if he is a governor, he cannot insult." However, in a later statement, Çiçek reiterated his support for Canalp and stated that they are determined in the fight against illegal structures.
DEM PARTY'S ODUNCU: "THE ADMINISTRATION IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE"
Participating in the debate, DEM Party Batman MP Zeynep Oduncu argued that the prevalence of illegal construction is the responsibility not only of the public but also of the administration. Oduncu stated, "Before blaming the public, the governor should look at his own management approach."
STATEMENT FROM THE BATMAN GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
Finally, the Batman Governor's Office issued a harsh statement addressing both Zeynep Oduncu's criticisms and the contractors who build illegal structures. The Governor's Office stated that the fight against illegal structures is not merely a zoning issue but is of vital importance for public safety and the healthy development of the city. Emphasizing that "illegal construction will not be tolerated," it was stated that contractors must also comply with certain rules.
