AKP Kocaeli Provincial Advisory Board member Burhan Abiş has passed away

It was learned that the funeral of Abiş, who was married and a father of 4, will be held today following the noon prayer at the Ulaşlı Neighborhood Central Mosque.

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın expressed the following in a condolence message shared on his social media account:

"I wish God's mercy upon our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's long-time companion, our former Ulaşlı Mayor, and our esteemed elder Burhan Abiş. I extend my condolences and patience to his family, loved ones, and all his relatives. May he rest in peace."

Abiş served as the mayor of Ulaşlı, one of the municipalities in Gölcük district that was later closed, between 1986 and 1994.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FOR ABİŞ FROM NUMAN KURTULMUŞ

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş published a condolence message for the late AKP Kocaeli Provincial Advisory Board member Burhan Abiş.

Kurtulmuş stated the following in the message he shared on his social media account:

"I wish God's mercy upon our esteemed elder Burhan Abiş, one of the pioneers of the National View (Milli Görüş) movement and former Mayor of Ulaşlı, and I extend my condolences to his family and relatives. Our esteemed elder, who dedicated his life to his cause, his nation, and his country, and who left deep marks in hearts with his services, will always be remembered with kindness. May the Lord grant him paradise and elevate his station."

Kurtulmuş's post also included a photograph taken during his visit to Abiş at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
