AKP mayor who scolded market vendor while wearing 36,000 TL shoes now visits chain store

While moments of workers fainting in chain stores in Turkey due to intense and difficult working conditions have become a hot topic on social media, AKP Bahçelievler Mayor Hakan Bahadır has once again drawn attention with an inspection video that sparked backlash.

Bahadır, who had previously scolded vendors at a market over prices while wearing 36,000 TL shoes, remained silent in the face of the employees' responses during his inspection at the chain store. One of the questions he directed at the store employee concerned the wholesale price of tea: “We are checking so that they don't deceive our neighbors, it doesn't matter. For example, this bud tea, you are selling it for 69 liras, what is the wholesale price for you?”

The employee replied, “We don't know that.” Upon this, Bahadır said, “We will request it, we are demanding it from you. Purchase invoices should be available in the stores.” The employee responded, “We will report it to headquarters, they will convey it.”
