AKP's reaction to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding Akın Gürlek: 'He will erase it from history'

Çelik made statements following his party's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting. Here are the highlights from Çelik's remarks:

"There is information circulating about assassinations of high-level figures in Iran. Of course, a completely different picture emerges here. When we look at the statements made from America, it is seen that what Iran will do against unjust and unlawful attacks is not being evaluated.

In terms of International Law, Iran is facing a completely unjust attack. While a negotiation table should be re-established, unfortunately, what is being done is asking for more fighter jets from more countries. This will not end well. If you do not have an exit plan, you should not get involved in something.

Israel resorting to assassination methods as a state... States must act like states. All attacks carried out by Israel are illegitimate.

The war must stop. A negotiation table must be established. Bombing a country by saying 'I don't like its regime' opens the door to very bad things.

The imposition that Israel has put forward through these assassination methods will bring disasters. As long as the world does not take a clear stance against Israel, it is encouraging Israel to behave more brutally.

Israel is clearly trying to 'Gazafy' Lebanon.

While these issues are being evaluated in our domestic public opinion, sectarian debates must definitely be avoided. Whoever introduces these sectarian debates into our country, let us know that these are very dangerous agendas aimed at weakening our immune system, also by playing with the algorithms of foreign-backed social media.

Not defending the rights of the oppressed just because our sect is different is also political sectarianism. We can never accept these. We cannot see them as legitimate, and we must never allow this sedition to be introduced into our country.

We said that Iran should not fire missiles targeting our country and that this is wrong. This will have very different consequences. The right thing to do was to establish a peace and justice initiative with all brotherly countries that defend regional peace. Our President has been the strongest voice for this in the world.

In Zionist media outlets, we see some assessments claiming that Kurds in Iran will rise up against the Iranian regime. There is no question of our Kurdish brothers in Iran being a party to Zionist aggression in any way.

Çelik also gave the following response to a question regarding CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's allegations about Akın Gürlek:

"CHP Chairman Mr. Özel constantly postponed the date of his statement. This was also criticized. All state officials regularly declare their assets. At first, we were saying, 'I guess there is someone in the kitchen for the CHP.' Most recently, there is a war in the region, and someone has taken it upon themselves to target Turkey's defense industry, and that is Özgür Özel. Why does this task fall to Özgür Özel? The CHP is not in control of its own agenda. It acts with a 'cut-copy-paste' agenda. Our Minister stated that he would both take legal action and declared that what he said was a lie. Özgür Özel is the only politician whose eraser runs out before his pencil. At this rate, he will also erase the Republican People's Party from history."
