AKP reacts to Özgür Özel's 'order to clear the area': It is a coup, it is anarchism

Elitaş spoke at the AKP Konya Provincial Advisory Council Meeting held at the Selçuklu Congress Center.

"This nation will hold them accountable for this as soon as possible."

Criticizing the opposition during his speech, Elitaş said the following:

"I want to state here that those friends of ours who have been striving for the chairmanship of the Republican People's Party (CHP) in recent times have left a black mark on political history. Can you imagine, a political party's chairman, its headquarters, a political party has become something that can be bought with money. Based on the images that 200 or 300 of the 1200 delegates themselves stated they would 'leak,' and in line with the apartments and money that the people in the Bursa organization stated they received, a political party has become something that can be bought with money. 1200 delegates elect the chairman."

The main opposition party is now in the hands of a political will that changes hands for money, as determined in court cases and by the allegations of the claimants. The courts will also determine this. They will not be able to account for the money taken in bundles, which they could not explain, which they took to each other as bribes in baklava boxes, and which they referred to as 'gifts.' This nation will hold them accountable for this as soon as possible."

"Özel forbids all deputies from speaking well about Murat Kurum"

Explaining that CHP Chairman Özel has spent his life making mistakes, Elitaş continued:

"But he is lucky. How is he lucky? Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu becomes the presidential candidate. Özgür Özel becomes the chairman. Mr. Ekrem goes to Silivri. Özgür Özel aspires to the presidential candidacy. Now, 3 weeks ago, Özgür Özel targets the minister who has won hearts all over Turkey, whether in the earthquake zone or elsewhere, with his humility, his efforts, and the success he has demonstrated. Do you know why he is targeting him? Because in the budget committee, all Republican People's Party deputies are thanking Mr. Murat Kurum. They say, 'You did not leave the earthquake victims hungry or homeless. You provided them with a place. May God be pleased with you.' Özgür Özel forbids all deputies from speaking well about Murat Kurum."

Elitaş responded to CHP Chairman Özel's claims regarding earthquake housing, saying: "He can't help himself, he says, 'They made you sign a debt promissory note. They will burden you with interest through that debt note.' When someone sets out to provide a service somewhere, and the site is handed over, surely a signature is signed to say 'I have taken delivery.' It is clear who it is. Our President announced it; 20-year maturity, interest-free, fixed installments, 2 years grace period, 18 years of installments, for 1.9 million liras, I am giving a round figure. He said 'may it be auspicious' to our citizens in the earthquake zone regarding our housing. I mean, they say 'a liar's candle burns until bedtime,' but his doesn't even last until bedtime, it doesn't even reach the late afternoon. He is someone like that, he is not aware of what he is saying."

"He conveys the order to the group deputy chairmen, saying 'Break that place up'"

Regarding the scuffle that occurred during the oath-taking ceremony of Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya (Note: The source text mentions Mustafa Çiftçi, but the context refers to the ministers present) in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Elitaş said the following:

"There is the office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. The clerk members, administrative officers, and group deputy chairmen are there. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament usually calls the group deputy chairmen there for such matters. Two CHP group deputy chairmen went there, and the two ministers were also there. They were congratulating them and wishing them success. Then they came inside. It seems that during that time, Mr. Özgür Özel conveyed the order he received during his weekly regular meeting to the group deputy chairmen, saying, 'Break that place up.' He is actually unaware that what he is doing is a coup against democracy. He lacks that political will. Unfortunately, he does this because he comes from a mindset that thinks anarchism is politics and that anarchism is a result of politics."
