AKP-run Şanlıurfa Municipality paid 30 million TL to pro-government media for local elections!

Bilal Tekatlı, a municipal council member candidate for the Eyyübiye district from the New Welfare Party, shared the invoices for the advertising expenditures of the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality shortly before the March 31 local elections.

The shared documents show that payments were made to national media outlets known for their proximity to the government, such as NTV, A Haber, Haber Global, TV Net, Beyaz TV, Hürriyet, and Milliyet.

1 MILLION 520 THOUSAND TL SPENT TO WELCOME ERDOĞAN

It was also observed that 1 million 520 thousand 775 TL was spent from municipal funds as a 'welcoming' expense to greet AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who attended his party's rally in Şanlıurfa in recent days.

420 THOUSAND TL PAID TO BEYAZ TV, 80 THOUSAND TL TO NTV

Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality also shared an invoice showing a payment of 420 thousand TL to Beyaz TV. In the prepared document, the payment item is listed as 'national television channel broadcast fee for the purpose of announcing the municipality's work and the city's promotion to the public on a national basis.'
