AKP's Şamil Tayyar: 'When you approach our President with good intentions, you can even take the bread from his hand'

Former AKP MP Şamil Tayyar commented on President and AKP Chairman Tayyip Erdoğan, saying, "He is never someone to be afraid of. When you approach our President with good intentions, you can even take the bread from his hand. But if you challenge or threaten him, he will put his life on the line and never make concessions to you." 

AKP's Şamil Tayyar evaluated the agenda on the Medya Kritik program on TGRT. Speaking about the decision not to appoint a trustee to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), Tayyar said the following regarding President Erdoğan:

"Because they don't know him from the outside, they make wrong interpretations. Our President clearly demonstrates this with his 22-23 years of political performance, experience, and life events. He is not someone to be intimidated or feared. When you approach our President with good intentions, you can even take the bread from his hand. But if you stand up to him, challenge him, or threaten him, he will put his head on the line, he will put his life on the line, but he will never make concessions to you. In 22-23 years, he has never been someone to make decisions out of fear or under someone's threat. If he has decided to appoint a trustee, he consults, follows a strategy of his own, but if he has made a firm decision and wants to walk that path knowing the consequences, he walks it. Explaining this through fear is irrational and is a deliberate act, a failure to know him. If he is going to appoint one, he will appoint one, that is... "
