AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik reacted to the gesture made by Antalyaspor's Israeli footballer Sagiv Jehezkel after he scored a goal in the match against Trabzonspor.
Israeli player Sagiv Jehezkel, who was excluded from the squad due to the gesture he made after scoring a goal, has been detained.
Antalyaspor Club excluded the Israeli footballer Jehezkel from the squad after he made a gesture following his goal in the Trabzonspor match that referenced October 7, 2023, the date the Israel-Hamas war began.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç had announced that an investigation had been launched into Jehezkel.
Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Israeli footballer, who was detained by Antalya Police Department teams on the grounds of committing the crime of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility" and taken to the police station, is currently undergoing questioning.
Following the incident at the match becoming a major topic, AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik shared a post on his X account, posting a photo of Jehezkel and writing, "Slave to hatred."
