Alarming fire in Kocaeli! Teams intervened
A fire broke out in the Körfez district of Kocaeli when roofing membrane ignited during repairs. Fire crews brought the blaze under control before it could spread; no injuries were reported.
The fire occurred on the roof of a building located on Güvercin Street in the Güney neighborhood of the Körfez district. According to information obtained, workers repairing the roof of the building accidentally set fire to the roof of the adjacent building.
When the membrane used during the repairs suddenly ignited, the workers tried to extinguish the fire by pouring water on it, but the flames grew rapidly and spread to the adjacent building.
Upon notification, fire crews arrived at the scene and, following prolonged efforts, brought the fire under control and extinguished it. There were no injuries or cases of smoke inhalation reported in the fire.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
