Allegations that police officers were registered as AKP members without their knowledge brought to Parliament
CHP Aydın Deputy Bülent Tezcan has brought to the parliamentary agenda allegations that some police officers in Ankara's Sincan district were registered as AKP members without their knowledge or consent.
It has been alleged that some police officers in Sincan, Ankara, were registered as members of the AKP without their knowledge or consent. CHP Aydın Deputy Bülent Tezcan has brought these allegations to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
Tezcan, who prepared a parliamentary question for Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya to answer, submitted the motion to the Speaker of the Parliament. In the motion, Tezcan asked how the membership procedures for police officers were carried out without their knowledge or consent, stating the following:
"It has emerged that some police officers in Sincan, Ankara, were registered as AKP members without their knowledge or consent. This situation, which came to light during political party membership inquiries made via E-Devlet, occurred without any application or approval from the police officers in question, and against their will."
Tezcan directed the following questions to Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya:
"Is there any work being done to identify the individuals who registered police officers as members against their will? Have investigations been launched into these individuals? Is there a similar situation regarding other public officials being registered as political party members without their knowledge via the E-Devlet system?"
