Alzambak Park, sold by Hilmi Türkmen, is back on the market as residential land

Alzambak Park, located on plot 1605, parcel 3 in Üsküdar Çengelköy, was transferred to the Social Security Institution (SGK) for 73 million liras to offset the debts of the municipality and its subsidiaries during the term of AKP member Hilmi Türkmen. The park, which faced public backlash over the sale, is being offered for auction on March 12 with a starting price of 78 million liras.

The parcel, which includes Alzambak Park—used as the neighborhood's only park for approximately 25 years—and Setüstü Street, was transferred to the SGK in 2023 to cover the municipal administration's debts.

This area also drew intense public reaction because it was the neighborhood's only earthquake assembly area. It was reported at the time that local residents attended council meetings, saying "No to the concretization of the park" and demanding that the sale decision be withdrawn.

However, despite the residents' demands for green space, the park has been included in the SGK's 2026 sales calendar. The starting date for the auction of Alzambak Park has been set for March 12, 2026, at 09:00.

SGK HAS PUT 137 PROPERTIES IN VARIOUS PROVINCES UP FOR SALE

The SGK has put 137 properties located in various provinces up for sale via auction between March 2 and March 13, 2026. Among the properties for sale are 3 parcels in Üsküdar's Yavuztürk neighborhood and Alzambak Park in Çengelköy.

Before the park was sold, it was dismantled, soil was dumped on it, and it was turned into a plot of land.

On the other hand, it was stated that prior to the SGK sale, the park was removed, soil was dumped on the path, and it was sold in that condition.

The park, which had its equipment removed and was turned into land suitable for housing by dumping soil, was restored to a park after the sale by replacing its sign and reinstalling its equipment.
