Ammunition explosion at Kırıkkale Bedesten... Two employees lost their lives
An ammunition explosion that occurred during R&D activities in the Yahşihan district of Kırıkkale has resulted in the deaths of two personnel working for a private company.
A factory manager and a retired non-commissioned officer lost their lives in an explosion that occurred at the disposal site in the Bedesten area of Kırıkkale on Tuesday, June 23, around midday. The incident took place during work carried out as part of R&D activities conducted in the region.
In a statement regarding the matter, the Kırıkkale Governor's Office announced that two personnel working for a private company died as a result of an accidental ammunition explosion around 14:00. The statement included the following: "On June 23, 2026, at approximately 14:00, 2 personnel working for a private company lost their lives as a result of an accidental ammunition explosion during R&D activities carried out at the disposal site in the Bedesten area of Yahşihan district."
Following the explosion, security forces took comprehensive security measures in the area, and a technical investigation has been launched into how the incident occurred.
