Ammunition theft at Adana Police Department: 11 detained
It has been revealed that ammunition stolen from the Special Operations Branch warehouse belonging to the Adana Police Department was sold. In a statement issued by the Adana Governor's Office, it was reported that 11 people involved in the ammunition theft have been detained. Searches conducted at the suspects' homes and workplaces led to the seizure of ammunition registered to the police inventory. The statement, which indicated that it was determined that various types of ammunition had been stolen from the Provincial Police Department's Special Operations Branch warehouse, included the following remarks:
NO EVIDENCE REGARDING THE CLAIM OF 'SALE TO BAYĞARALAR'
"In line with the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the theft of various ammunition from the Provincial Police Department's Special Operations Branch warehouse, a multi-faceted investigation and inquiry have been initiated to apprehend the perpetrators identified as having committed the crime of 'Embezzlement and arms-ammunition trafficking.' As a result of the efforts, 11 individuals identified as having carried out the incident have been detained. Ammunition determined to be registered to the Provincial Police Department's warehouse inventory was seized at the residences, workplaces, and vehicles of the suspects. No evidence has been found regarding the claims appearing in media outlets and on social media that said ammunition was sold to the Bayğaralar armed criminal organization. The initiated judicial and administrative investigations are being conducted in a multi-faceted manner."
