Ankara program for the NATO Summit announced: Here is the hour-by-hour schedule

The official program for the 36th NATO Summit in Ankara, which has been subject to intense security measures for months and has sparked public debate, has been released. According to the schedule shared on NATO's website, numerous meetings, forums, and official receptions will be held over two days, starting before the summit itself.

FIRST EVENT BEFORE THE SUMMIT

According to the program, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will hold a press conference at the Presidential Complex on Monday, July 6, at 16:45.

FIRST DAY TO BEGIN WITH DEFENSE INDUSTRY AGENDA

The Defense Industry Forum will be held at the ATO Congresium on Tuesday, July 7, at 10:00. The opening speeches of the forum will be delivered at 12:45 by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to give a short speech within the scope of the forum at 14:00.

SUCCESSIVE MEETINGS AT THE MINISTERIAL LEVEL

On the same day at 17:00, the foreign ministers of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative partners, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, will meet.

At 17:30, a reception will be held in honor of the defense ministers at the Ministry of National Defense Ayyıldız Campus, hosted by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler.

OFFICIAL DINNER AT THE PALACE

An official dinner will be hosted by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan at the Palace at 18:30, with the participation of NATO heads of state and government and their spouses.

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have also been invited to the dinner.

At 19:45, a working dinner will be held at the level of NATO-Ukraine Foreign Ministers. European Commission Vice President and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas is expected to attend the working dinner.

The final program of the day will take place at 20:15. A working dinner will be held with the participation of defense ministers from NATO's Asia-Pacific partners: Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.

LEADERS' SUMMIT TO BE HELD ON THE SECOND DAY

The program for Wednesday, July 8, will begin with brief press statements by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at 08:00, followed by heads of state and government at 08:15.

An official welcoming ceremony for the leaders of allied countries will be held by Rutte and President Erdoğan at 10:45.

Following the family photo at 11:00, the main session at the level of heads of state and government will be held at 11:15.

Within the scope of the program, Mark Rutte is expected to hold a press conference at 15:00, followed by press conferences by the leaders.
