Ankara's new chief public prosecutor has been determined: Critical appointment via HSK decree
With the Judicial Judiciary Decree published by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Aykut Çelik has been appointed as the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor. Within the scope of the decree, two new names were also brought to the positions of Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor.
The Judicial Judiciary Decree of the First Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), which includes changes in duties within the judicial organization, has been published. With the decree, the name brought to the position of Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor has been clarified.
In line with the decision published by the HSK, Aykut Çelik, who was serving as the Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor, has been appointed as the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor.
AYKUT ÇELİK APPOINTED AS ANKARA CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR
With the appointments made within the scope of the Judicial Judiciary Decree, Aykut Çelik has been brought to the position of Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor.
Çelik was most recently serving as the Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor.
The decree covered not only the chief public prosecutor's office but also the Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor positions.
HSK Deputy Secretary General Ömer Örücü and Ankara Public Prosecutor Ahmet Akdeniz have been assigned as Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutors.

GÖKHAN KARAKÖSE HAD BEEN ELECTED AS A MEMBER OF THE COURT OF CASSATION
The office of the chief public prosecutor had become vacant after Gökhan Karaköse, who was serving as the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor, was elected as a member of the Court of Cassation.
With the latest decree published by the HSK, it was decided to appoint Aykut Çelik to the vacant position.
EVALUATION FROM MINISTER OF JUSTICE GÜRLEK
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, in his previous statement regarding the election of Gökhan Karaköse as a member of the Court of Cassation, had expressed his belief that the names appointed to their new positions would make significant contributions to the high judiciary.
In his statement, Gürlek had used the expressions, "I believe that they will make significant contributions to our high judiciary with the knowledge, experience, and accumulation they have acquired at different levels of our judicial organization."
