Announcement to the public from Naci Görür following the 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Tokat: 'How much longer will this continue?'

As a country located on an earthquake belt, Turkey faces earthquakes of varying magnitudes every day. Following every major earthquake, expert figures participate in live broadcasts to make statements on the subject. 

Sharing his thoughts on the ongoing process, Naci Görür first evaluated the earthquake in Tokat and used the following expressions:

"A 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Sulusaray, Tokat. A 4.1 magnitude earthquake had also occurred in the same place last night. The earthquake that happened yesterday was a foreshock.

This earthquake occurred on the branch that separates from the North Anatolian Fault (KAF) in Tokat and extends in a SW direction into the Anatolian Plate.

This medium-sized earthquake may have caused damage to poor-quality building stocks. Get well soon."

Following his assessment, Görür made a critical post this time.

The expert evaluated the scenes witnessed on television after the earthquake and made a reference to the painful truths that are only remembered from one earthquake to the next.

In his post, which he noted as 'Announcement to my people', the expert included the following statements:

"ANNOUNCEMENT TO MY PEOPLE: You know the scenes currently happening on television very well, don't you? It's just like a comedy. An earthquake happens. Televisions start talking. Earthquake experts appear one after another. If there are no casualties, we are to be grateful. We are to stay outside at night. Then it will be forgotten. If the earthquake is major, then there is pain and sorrow. 

My dear people, how much longer will this continue? Why do you not demand earthquake-resistant residential areas? Why do you not take action? How quickly did you forget February 6? Is an earthquake less important to us than the price of tomatoes or the price of red meat? You are the owners of the property."
