Another sexual scandal rocks the Gendarmerie: Couldn't collect payment from imam, had him beaten by gendarmerie personnel

Gendarmerie Non-Commissioned Officer G.K., serving at the Van-Gevaş District Gendarmerie Command, became romantically involved with İmam İ.S., a resident of the central district of Bitlis, after divorcing her husband. As the relationship progressed, the imam expressed a desire to engage in sexual relations with NCO G.K. The female officer demanded money from the imam in exchange for agreeing to the encounter. The imam accepted the request.

According to a report by Seyhan Avşar from Gerçek Gündem, despite the sexual encounter taking place, the imam did not make any payment to the woman.

THEY AMBUSHED THE IMAM, FIRST BEAT HIM, THEN ROBBED HIM

Enraged by the incident, the woman devised a plan to rob and assault the imam by "hiring" gendarmerie specialist sergeants under her command. Putting her plan into action, G.K. arranged for the imam's vehicle to be intercepted on the night of Wednesday, 28 August, as he was travelling along the Van-Erciş highway. The interception was carried out by Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Orhan Ersoy, Gendarmerie Specialist Corporal Ömer Keleşoğlu, and a civilian named Taner Şirp. The imam was beaten at the scene and 58 thousand 838 Turkish liras from his bank account were transferred to another account via IBAN and extorted from him.

Following the imam's complaint, an investigation was launched. G.K. and 2 gendarmerie personnel were taken into custody, formally arrested, and sent to prison.
