A new one has been added to these strange requests. Şeyma Nur Mantar, who works at the 112 Emergency Call Center, said that a citizen called 112 and reported, "I want the fire department. My heart is burning, I'm suffering from heartbreak."

The staff of the 112 Emergency Call Center, who work 24/7 to respond to emergencies, are most exhausted by unfounded reports and unnecessary calls.

Working in coordination with police, health, gendarmerie, fire department, and AFAD units, the Call Center strives to ensure that emergency teams arrive at the scene as quickly as possible.

In the last 3 months, 58.42 percent of the calls received by the Edirne 112 Emergency Call Center did not turn into actual cases.

112 Emergency Call Center call handler Şeyma Nur Mantar said that a citizen called 112 and reported, "I want the fire department. My heart is burning, I'm suffering from heartbreak."

Edirne 112 Emergency Call Center Director İsmail Öztuna called for the center not to be called except for emergencies, stating that an administrative fine of 1,980 liras is imposed on those who make unfounded reports.
