Armed attack in Üsküdar: Dead and wounded reported!

According to the information received, an armed attack was carried out by an unknown person or persons at a cafe on Ayazma Street in the Ünalan neighborhood of Üsküdar.

According to a report by Halktv.com.tr, the children of two families had a fight yesterday. Today, two families consisting of 40 people met at the cafe. Brothers Erkan, Serkan, and Tamer Kazan were at the table representing the first group.

Tamer Kazan and Okan Güner, who were in the first group, died. Veli Hakan Karataş, who was in the other group, also died. It was learned that Erkan Kazan, who was injured in the attack, is in critical condition.

It was learned that the group on one side of the table is known as the 'Kazanlar' group, which is influential in Üsküdar. Brothers Erkan and Serkan Kazan were at the table representing this group.

A person who was at the table during the attack said, "During the meeting, a person who came from outside sprayed the table with a long-barreled weapon." It was learned that Erkan Kazan, who was injured in the attack, is in critical condition.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

The Istanbul Governor's Office made the following statement regarding the incident in question:

"On Thursday, 23.05.2024, at approximately 20:10, a dispute between two groups at a cafe located on Ayazma Street in the Ünalan neighborhood of the Üsküdar district turned into an armed clash.

In the incident, 3 people lost their lives, and a total of 5 people were injured, 2 of them seriously.

The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing."
