Armed attack on AKP candidate: Details emerge

AKP Küçükçekmece Mayoral Candidate Aziz Yeniay was attacked with long-barreled weapons while conducting election campaign activities in the Kanarya neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 17:10. The attackers, who opened fire from a white vehicle, fled the scene rapidly. Investigations revealed that there were 4 people inside the vehicle used in the attack. It was also determined that the vehicle had no license plates.

32-year-old Ebru G. was seriously injured in the gunfire, which involved both long-barreled weapons and handguns. Examinations at the scene showed that bullets also struck 5 vehicles and a residence during the indiscriminate shooting.

EVIDENCE FOUND AT THE SCENE

Examinations at the scene uncovered 14 shell casings from long-barreled weapons and 3 shell casings from 9 mm handguns. While all security camera footage from the direction in which the attackers fled is being reviewed, police efforts to apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
