Armed attack on Memleket Party mayoral candidate

According to the information received, an armed attack was carried out by unidentified person or persons on the vehicle carrying Ozan Bozdoğan in the village of Yüksek, Tarsus.

According to initial reports, the attack, which was carried out with a shotgun, left holes in the vehicle's bodywork.

The following statement was made on the Memleket Party's official social media account on X:

"A shotgun attack was carried out on the vehicle used by Ozan Mehmet Bozdoğan, the son of Tarsus Mayor Haluk Bozdoğan and the Memleket Party's Tarsus mayoral candidate, while he was conducting election campaign activities.

An armed attack has been carried out on our Tarsus mayoral candidate Ozan Bozdoğan's vehicle. Our mayoral candidate is in good health.

These bullets were fired not only at the Memleket Party and our candidate, but also at our democracy and the will of the people of Tarsus. Those who committed and ordered this cowardly attack must be caught immediately. We will never bow down to your attacks, your pressure, and your baseness."

Sharing a video of the scene on his social media account, Memleket Party Adana Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Ethem Eke stated, "I condemn the armed attack on our Tarsus Mayor Haluk Bozdoğan and our Tarsus mayoral candidate Mehmet Bozdoğan!

This attack was committed against the Turkish Nation and our dear people!

No bullying, threat, or attack can deter us from this cause."
