Armed clash between two families in Iğdır: 2 dead, 6 injured

A violent argument broke out between two families for reasons yet to be determined in the village of Karakuyu in Iğdır yesterday evening. As the verbal argument quickly escalated into an armed clash, two people lost their lives at the scene, and a total of six people were shot and injured.

The injured were quickly transported to Iğdır State Hospital by ambulances with the intervention of local citizens and medical teams arriving at the scene. Following the incident, security measures in the village were raised to the highest level, and heavy police security was provided around the hospital to prevent any further incidents.

Gendarmerie teams took control of the village entrances and exits in Karakuyu to prevent any new tension between the parties and took measures in front of the families' homes. It was reported that the 15 people detained were taken to the police station to have their statements taken.

The bodies of those who lost their lives are expected to be handed over to their families during the day and buried under extensive security measures. It was stated that the treatment of the injured continues at the hospital. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
