Arrest decisions in operation targeting Eşme Municipality! Mayor among those detained

In an investigation organized by the Uşak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Eşme Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Eşme Mayor Yılmaz Tozan, his driver M.F., and municipal police officer I.U. were arrested by the duty magistrate's court.

Mayor Tozan's wife, Burcu Tozan, and the chief of staff S.B. were released under judicial control conditions. H.D., who works at the municipality, and CHP municipal council member R.S.S. were among those released after providing their statements to the prosecutor's office.

According to the details of the investigation, it is alleged that the suspects obtained financial gain in exchange for providing flexibility regarding the closing hours of entertainment venues in the district and that invoices for artist payments within the scope of the International Eşme Tourist Kilim, Culture and Art Festival were inflated. It was also learned that benefits were obtained through the issuance of irregular licenses to some businesses, and that unusual money transfers were detected in the bank accounts of the driver, M.F.

During the investigation launched on April 17, the Mayor, his wife, his driver, the municipal police officer, and other municipal staff were taken into custody, while an arrest warrant issued for council member R.S.S. was also executed. It was determined that an individual named O.Ü. was already in prison due to a separate case.
