Arrest request for 26 suspects exposed for working for Mossad
Twenty-six of the suspects sent to the courthouse, who were alleged to have worked for the Israeli Intelligence Service Mossad, have been referred to the duty magistrate with a request for their arrest.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office aimed at detecting and exposing international espionage activities, a total of 46 suspects were identified who were determined to potentially be involved in international espionage activities on behalf of the Israeli Intelligence Service Mossad, targeting foreign nationals, primarily Palestinian and Israeli families and activists residing in Turkey.
Thirty-four of the suspects related to the matter were taken into custody in operations carried out in recent days.
ARREST REQUESTED
The detained suspects were transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after their procedures at the police station were completed.
Twenty-six suspects, whose prosecution procedures were completed there, were brought before the duty magistrate with a request for their arrest on charges of 'military and political espionage'.
It was learned that the other 8 suspects will be handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for deportation procedures.
