Arrest warrants issued for 11 people in 'Newborn Gang' case
In the 'Newborn Gang' investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, arrest warrants have been requested for 11 of the 14 suspects detained over allegations of infant deaths and illicit financial gain.
In Istanbul, 14 suspects detained on allegations of transferring newborn emergency patients to neonatal units of private hospitals they had pre-arranged agreements with, causing their deaths and obtaining illicit financial gain, have been referred to the courthouse.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, known publicly as the 'Newborn Gang' investigation, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch detained 5 doctors, 3 nurses, 5 healthcare workers, and 1 civilian during an operation conducted the day before yesterday.

The 14 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse this morning.
ARREST DECISION FOR 11 PEOPLE
Of the 14 people detained and referred to the courthouse within the scope of the newborn investigation, arrest was requested for 11, and judicial control was requested for 3 suspects.
